OUR WORKING FRAMEWORK

The work evolves with the school.

Community Orientation

We begin with the experiences, knowledge, and priorities of the school community, creating opportunities for those perspectives to shape the work.

Coaching

We provide ongoing support to school leaders and educators as they apply new strategies, navigate challenges, and strengthen their practice.

Continuous Improvement

We use data, observation, and community feedback to assess progress and make informed adjustments throughout the partnership.

Sustainability

We focus on building the knowledge, practices, and capacity schools need to continue their improvement efforts over time.

OUR FOUR PILLARS

What we look for in a thriving school community.

Our work is guided by four interconnected pillars that shape how we understand school culture, design learning experiences, and assess progress. Together, they help school communities recognize their strengths and identify opportunities for growth.

01/ Achievement Orientation

Recognizing the value of every individual and fostering a commitment to personal growth that contributes to the success of the wider school community.

03/  Trauma Consciousness

Recognizing how past experiences influence communication, behavior, and decision-making, while creating spaces for reflection, support, and healing.

02/ Cultural Awareness

Understanding how identity and social systems shape our experiences, recognizing inequities, and developing the awareness to challenge oppressive practices.

04/  Community Connections

Creating opportunities for diverse perspectives to be heard, strengthening relationships, and building the community's capacity to develop solutions from within.

HOW WE MEASURE

Understanding what changes.

Meaningful school improvement requires ongoing reflection and evidence.

Yucca Palm draws on student and staff surveys, school data, interviews, focus groups, and observations to understand school culture and track progress. Depending on the partnership, this may include indicators such as attendance, academic performance, disciplinary outcomes, and students' experiences of belonging.

Findings are reviewed with school leadership to identify areas of growth, inform adjustments, and guide the next cycle of work.
